Posh Gogglebox couple Steph and Dom Parker have confirmed their exit from the Channel 4 TV review show that's made them famous.
The couple, whose day job revolves around running an upmarket B&B in Kent, became celebrities on Gogglebox for their fondness for a tipple (or three) and holding hands while dishing out sozzled barbs in front of the telly.
"We think it’s important that everyone gets their chance to be on Gogglebox and give their opinion, and having been on it from the beginning we felt like we’d pretty much said all we needed to say, and we knew what we were going say," Steph told The Sun.
"You can have too much of a good thing, so you can’t overdo it," she insisted. "We've decided to take a break from it. We've got other projects and not a lot of time. We're very busy and filming at the hotel was pretty tough."
Steph and Dom had been missing from the show's usual roster of telly-watchers since it returned to Channel 4 a few weeks ago, so this news doesn't come as a complete shock.
Steph also thanked fans of the show for their support, especially in recent weeks when they were MIA. "I'm so touched that people have been missing us, because I think there are some incredibly funny characters on there so the fact we're missed is quite a big deal for us.
"We do still watch it and we enjoy the new characters, it's still making us belly laugh which is great."
As for the possibility of them returning to the small box to host their own show, Steph said:
"You can never guess what's around the corner, so who knows . . . Everything is very topsy-turvy in the TV land, but we'd absolutely be delighted."
