Niall Horan is part of the Gogglebox: Celebrity Special which will be shown on Channel 4 this Friday as part of the station's Stand Up to Cancer charity night.

The One Direction singer-turned-solo star is sharing sofa space with singer and TV presenter Olly Murs. Also taking part are footballers Jamie Vardy, Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. More names will be revealed in the build-up to Friday's show.

Mullingar man Horan said he and Murs were "honoured" to appear on the show to raise money for cancer research. "Olly and I had a great laugh filming Gogglebox and hope that we can raise as much as possible for such a great cause," he continued.

This is the third Gogglebox: Celebrity Special and previous participants have included The Fall and Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, singer-songwriter Noel Gallagher and comedian Miranda Hart and her real life mother, Diana.

The show will be dedicated to late Gogglebox narrator Caroline Aherne, who passed away during the summer after a battle with cancer.

Stand Up to Cancer, hosted by Davina McCall, Alan Carr and Adam Hills, begins on Channel 4 on Friday at 7pm with singers Britney Spears and Michael Bublé among those taking part. The Gogglebox: Celebrity Special airs at 9pm with more Gogglebox fun in After Hours at 12:30am.
