Actor Les Dennis has said that he has filmed his final scenes on Coronation Street as his character prepares for a dramatic exit.
The television host and comedian joined the ITV soap as Michael Rodwell in 2014 but announced he was leaving the cobbles earlier this year.
He revealed in a Twitter post this morning that he had wrapped up filming for the show this week.

“Filmed my last scenes on @itvcorrie yesterday. Thank you all there for my lovely gifts. Will miss you all”, he said.
The 63-year-old former family fortunes presenter said, “I was so moved. Will miss being part of the @itvcorrie family. Made so many friends”.
The actor took a sabbatical from the show earlier this year to produce and star in a stage production of Alan Bleasdale's Down The Dock Road in Liverpool.
His Coronation Street character, Michael, made a dramatic debut in Weatherfield as a burglar, before marrying Gail Platt.
Dennis' Michael Rodwell was a regular at the Rovers Return
Dennis announced back in July that he was leaving the show, having said “I always knew that the time would come when I would want the freedom to do more projects, and now feels like the right time”.
“The talented team of writers and producers have come up with a very dramatic exit for Michael on the show which will be exciting to film”, he said.
“I'll treasure the two-and-a-half years I have been part of such an iconic show and move on with very fond memories, so many lovely friends and colleagues and an ambition achieved”, he said.
