Reality star Kim Kardashian is taking legal action after a website claimed she faked the Paris robbery she was the victim of earlier this month.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had been visiting Paris with members of her family for fashion week when she was held at gunpoint and robbed of jewellery worth around €10m by armed men at a luxury residence in the city. No arrests have been made to date.

In a lawsuit filed against gossip website Mediatakeout in New York, Kardashian's legal team said "after having been the victim of a horrific and traumatic armed robbery in France, Kim Kardashian returned to the United States only to again be victimised, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her [as] a liar and thief".
The lawsuit said that the website had "claimed, without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars".
Kardashian's sister Khloé has said her older sibling is "not doing that well" after her ordeal. Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US, she said the robbery was "incredibly traumatic" and "a wake-up call to make a lot of life adjustments".

The robbery came just days after notorious celebrity prankster Vitalii Sediuk ambushed Kardashian outside a Paris restaurant.

Kardashian's husband, rapper Kanye West, is back on tour having cancelled dates in the wake of the robbery. He abruptly cut short headlining a festival set in New York after news of the incident broke.
An hour into his set at the inaugural Meadows Music and Arts Festival, West said: "I'm sorry, there's a family emergency. I'm going to have to stop the show" and quickly left.
