Disappointed Coldplay fans who've been crossing their fingers for a second Croke Park gig have had their hopes dashed after MCD boss Denis Desmond effectively ruled out the band adding another date.

Tickets for the band's Croker concert were snapped up by fans in under forty minutes when they went on sale on Friday morning last. Many had even braved the chilly temperatures and queued out overnight in the hope of getting their hands on tickets.

Such was the demand that fans were fully expecting a second date to be added at GAA headquarters especially as the band added extra dates to their tour stops in Milan, Cardiff and Brussels.

However according to the Irish Mirror, music promoter Desmond said there's little hope that the band will do a second night in Dublin as they band don't have time in their tour schedule.

“There won’t be a second Coldplay gig in Dublin. They don’t have the time. The band is playing only 15 gigs in Europe next Summer and only two in the UK,” he said.

The news is set to be a huge blow to fans especially as many were left angry after tickets were snapped up by touts and were already being sold on resale sites for a multiple of their original face value even before the gig had officially sold out.
