Former Spice Girls star Geri Horner aka Ginger Spice is expecting her first child with husband Christian Horner.

The 44 year old singer married the Formula One star in May 2015, having gone public with their relationship in March 2014.

Taking to Instagram to share their news, Horner who's best known by her maiden name Halliwell, posted a sketch of a pregnant woman with the caption, "God bless Mother Nature #MamaSpice."

A spokesperson confirmed the news saying, "The couple is overjoyed with the good news and cannot wait to welcome the newest addition to their family."

The pair each have a daughter from previous relationships.

The former Spice Girl is one of the (many) names in the mix to front the Great British Bake Off when the show airs on Channel 4 next year.

She appeared on the Sport Relief version of the culinary show in February and is reportedly one of the candidates being considered to replace presenting duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins as the new host of Bake Off.

Love Productions, the company behind the hit show, has reportedly said that Geri had good chemistry with Paul Hollywood when she took part in the charity version.

Meanwhile a Spice Girls reunion featuring three of the original members, Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton, is due to take place next year. Victoria Beckham and Mel C have declined to take part with Beckham recently saying that they shouldn't sing the band's hit singles as it "might be a bit sad" and should instead concentrate on new material.

Geri, Emma and Mel B want to bring the band back together as they celebrate 20 years since the release of their breakthrough debut hit single Wannabe, which rocketed them to global fame.

In July, they posted a video to say a big thank you to their fans for sticking by them over the two decades.

No further information has been forthcoming about their planned reunion, which is rumoured to be a live gig in Hyde Park in London.
