Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh was among the RTÉ winners at the PPI Radio Awards in Kilkenny on Friday, winning her first PPI award for her RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta show Bláthnaid Libh!.

It was one of a number of RTÉ wins on the night with Colm O'Regan Wants a Word - made by Sideline Productions for RTÉ Radio 1 - winning Best Comedy Programme; Mooney Goes Wild's Dawn Chorus winning the Innovation award and RTÉ 2fm honoured with the Station Imaging prize.

In the Speech Programming section of the awards, there were wins for RTÉ Radio 1's Documentary on One, which won the overall documentary award for An Open Verdict; and Who Took Mom to the Prom?, which won Best Short Feature.
Morning Ireland won in the News Programme category for its coverage of the aftermath of the Bataclan massacre while Justin McCarthy won News Reporter of the Year.
The award for Full Service Station of the Year went to BBC Radio Ulster, with Cork's Red FM 104-106 winning Music Station of the Year and Radio Kerry winning Local Station of the Year.

The award for Music Presenter of the Year went to Today FM's Dermot Whelan while Cork's 96FM's Steve Haze won Radio DJ of the Year and Newstalk's Sean Moncrieff won the Speech Broadcaster award.

In the Music Programming category the winners included Today FM's Dermot & Dave (General Music Programme), FM104's Freaks on Friday (Specialist Music Programme) and The KC Show on Cork's Red FM 104-106, which picked up the Breakfast Programme award.
