Charlie Kaufman's 2004 mind-melter of a romcom Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is going to be made into a TV series.

Considered a modern classic, the film starred Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey as Clementine Kruczynski and Joel Barish, a couple who decide to erase each other from their memories.

Much of the film is set inside Joel's mind, as he tries to hide Clementine in the deeper recesses of his unconsciousness after deciding that he doesn't want to completely forget about her.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind won an Oscar for Best Screenplay, and the film's producer Steve Golin is on board this time around with the studio Universal Cable Productions.

Writer Zev Borow (who's writing CV includes Human Target and Chuck – two cracking TV shows) is said to be close to signing a deal to write the script, although this is yet to be confirmed.
