We've all been guilty of binge-watching TV shows – but the Sydney Opera House is bringing things to a whole new level in December.

The iconic Australian venue will screen 24 hours of back-to-back iconic episodes of the much-loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, starring starring Sarah Michelle Gellar in the story of fang-fighter Buffy Summers.

Created by Joss Whedon, the ground-breaking show also starred Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Stewart Head and Seth Green, and ran for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003 before becoming a massive box set seller and binge favourite.

The Buffy feast in Sydney will form part of the very first BingeFest, a 24-hour pop culture extravaganza aiming to celebrate 21st century binge culture through a full day of non-stop television, podcasts, video games and memes.

In addition to the Buffy marathon, there will be an internet cat video festival, co-presented with the RSPCA.

This will be the first new festival at the Sydney Opera House for five years and takes place from December 17 to 18. So, if you fancy a novel Christmas, you'll be hard-pressed to beat this.
