Gráinne Seoige has revealed that in addition to her glittering television career she will now be adding an equally glittering string to her bow  - as a diamond dealer.

The Galway native and well know television presenter launched her new venture, Grace Diamonds, at New York International Bridal Week on Thursday.

"I think 'for everything a season'. I've had a ball with what I've been a part of. One door has to close for another one to open and that's how these things are," Seoige told The Irish Independent.

Seoige studied gemmology before launching her new project, and the company will see her offer a by-appointment-only service to customers who want to have a custom diamond ring designed.

She founded the company in South Africa with her fiancé, Leon Jordaan, a former rugby coach.

The couple became engaged in 2013 but Seoige said that they have yet to set a date for their wedding because, "I think I'm enjoying this phase of being engaged far too much."

Although she was recently dropped as the presenter of the monthly Crimecall show, she will be continuing to juggle her new career with work in RTÉ as presenter of The People of the Year Awards and a number of other television projects.
