Mirror, mirror, on the wall - who is the fairest festival of them all? Why it can only be Metropolis 2016 because of its super sparkly and larger than life mirror ball!
The Dublin event, which takes place between November 3 and 5, features Grace Jones, DJ Shadow, hip hop pioneers The Sugarhill Gang and Dublin extreme noise merchants Girl Band, Jack Garratt, Mount Kimbie and Paul Kalkbrenner.
The glittery disco ball will be the size of a three storey building and covered with over 3,000 mirrored tiles, each the size of an A4 page, and will take eight days to build.
The super shiny monument to disco will require four cranes to hoist it up so it can spin and cast its disco spell on revellers.
Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest mirror ball in the world, it is just one of the many art installations that will be onsite at Metropolis.
So does this mean that Who Da Funk's Shiny Disco Balls will be played on repeat during the three day festival?
The event is described as a festival of "music, performance, conversation and installation", this is the second year of the indoor event and it will take place from November 3 to 5 in The Shelbourne Hall at the RDS.
