Jennifer Aniston's husband Justin Theroux has said he thinks the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is "terrible news" for the couple's six children.

Theroux, who married Pitt's ex-wife Aniston last year, commented on the news that Pitt and Jolie were to part ways saying, "As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all I can really say."

"It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time – that's horrible," he told Business Insider.

Brad Pitt and Angelina are to divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences"

When news broke that Jolie had filed for divorce, Aniston was immediately pulled into the media narrative due to the fact that Jolie met Pitt while filming their 2005 romantic action movie Mr and Mrs Smith, while Pitt and Aniston were still married.

Theroux said it was "nonsense" that he and Aniston be included in reports about the divorce adding, "There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it.

"It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."
