In their dancefloor debut last Friday night Whitmore and Pernice scored 25 out of a possible 40 from the judges for their cha cha.
They are one of four couples dancing waltzes this weekend, with the first dance-off and elimination from the new series airing on BBC One on Sunday evening.
Gymnast Claudia Fragapane and partner AJ Pritchard will also waltz to Whitney Houston's You Light Up My Life, while actor Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse and presenter Louise Redknapp and partner Kevin Clifton will dance Viennese waltzes to INXS' Never Tear Us Apart and the kd lang version of Hallelujah respectively.

In her column for Glamour online this week, TV presenter Whitmore wrote: "I'm so excited about the second dance - the song has a special meaning to me so if I manage to use the emotion and not be a blubbering mess I'll get through it.
"I also feel Gio and I have gotten to know each other so much better and I'm learning to trust him (especially with some of the back bends he's choreographed)."
One famous fan who'll be cheering Whitmore on is Lady Gaga, who sent the Bray native a bouquet of white roses with the message, "Your support of my music means the world to me."
