The MTV Europe Music Awards nominations have been announced with Beyoncé and Justin Bieber leading the way with the most nods, getting five each.
Europe's most-nominated act is Adele, who is close behind the North Americans on four nominations.
Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd also feature prominently, after each picking up nominations in three categories.
Beyoncé is up for best US act, Best Video for Formation, Best Female, Best Live Act and Biggest Fans, while the Biebs is also in the frame for a clutch of awards including the hotly contested Best Canadian Act, Best Song for Sorry, and Best Male.
Adele will square up against Bieber for the Best Song award with her hit Hello, and will also do battle with Beyonce for Best Female and Best Live Act.
In the best UK and Ireland act category (even though there's no such place as 'UK and Ireland'), Adele faces competition from Coldplay, Little Mix, Years & Years and ex-One Direction star Zayn.
This year's MTV EMAs will be held in the Dutch city of Rotterdam on November 6 and fans can vote for the nominees here.
