Sinéad and Marty - could they be taking a spin away from Winning Streak and onto the dancefloor?

Forget spinning the wheel, Winning Streak presenters Marty Whelan and Sinéad Kennedy have said they're willing to consider a spin on the dancefloor as the search continues for hosts of Dancing with the Stars

The affable duo, who this weekend return with a new series of the National Lottery gameshow, said they'd be open to offers to present the show when it begins broadcasting in the new year.

Marty joked to RTÉ Entertainment that he's "already practising my pasodoble as we speak" and admitted that the on-screen chemistry he shares with Sinéad could prove to a big selling point if producers were interested in considering them as hosts for Dancing with the Stars

"We get on which is very important and we don't get in each other's way, because the double-hander isn't as easy as people assume it is," he said.

The pair said that if they were approached then they would "have to contemplate what that would mean personally and professionally" but did acknowledge that a huge number of names have already been linked with Dancing with the Stars.

The Irish version of Strictly Come Dancing will debut in January and will see eleven well-known celebrities paired with professional ballroom dancers, who will compete against each other on Sunday evenings.

In the meantime, Marty and Sinéad will continue to rule Saturday evening viewing as Winning Streak returns to its regular perch.

The show is now Europe’s longest-running TV gameshow and the pair say the secret to its enduring popularity is down to the fact that "it's literally happy hour" as it features "real people, making real money" every week.

Winning Streak airs on RTÉ One this Saturday at 8.15pm.
