The Late Late Show continues it's new season run on Friday night with a visit from President Michael D. Higgins.
According to RTÉ, the President will be looking back on the 1916 Centenary celebrations and will be outlining his vision for Ireland's future. During a recent newspaper interview, President Higgins urged the government to increase spending on public services and insisted that investment in housing and education were not "wild Bolshevik ideas".
President Higgins will also be discussing his plans for the future as speculation mounts that he may be interested in a second term in Áras an Uachtaráin. His term of office comes to an end next year.
He's appeared on The Late Late Show twice since his election as President and has discussed everything from cultural initiatives to date nights at the cinema with his wife Sabina.
Also appearing on Friday night will be Stefanie Preissner the writer of the new RTÉ comedy drama, Can't Cope Won't Cope, which began last Monday and attracted widespread praise for its authentic depiction of the lives of twenty-something Irish women.
Ireland's success at the Paralympic games will also be celebrated with athletes Ellen Keane and Niamh McCarthy, joining RTÉ presenter Daráine Mulvhill, to discuss their success in Rio and that of the Irish team.
Actor and star of Love/Hate John Connors will also be chatting to Ryan about his upcoming documentary series on the history of the Traveller community.
There's also comedy from British writer and performer Jessica Thom who'll be talking about the challenge of her Tourette Syndrome and how she uses it as part of her stand up routine, while there's also music from The Blizzards, Cathy Davey and Ralph McTell & John Sheehan.
