Sky Sports presenter Clare Tomlinson has apologised to Irish viewers after her unfortunate slip of the tongue at the weekend when she referred to the 'All England Football Final' between Dublin and Mayo.

Clips of the gaffe went viral on social media and the presenter endured a huge amount of slagging after she referred to the "high drama" at Croke Park after Mayo scored in the last minute of injury time "to take the All-England Final against Dublin to a replay".

Tomlinson later took to Twitter to apologise for her gaffe and put her hand up saying that she was "Still hiding under a rock after my horrendous gaffe". No doubt still red-faced after the live-on-air blunder she asked Irish sports fans to "please let me visit still" after her slip of the tongue.

The experienced presenter also said that in eighteen years of live television presentation "it's up there with my worst moments" and said she was "so embarrassed" afterwards.

GAA fans were all very magnanimous after her apology and told her not to worry that she was welcome here anytime and appreciated her explanation that the slip up came at "the end of a long, late shift".

Anyway she will have plenty of time to make amends next week when the two sides do battle in the replay at Croke Park and she has wowed there's no way she'll be repeating the blunder again.
