Netflix has confirmed that seasons three and four of drug baron drama Narcos are definitely on the way, with the third one due to hit the streaming service around this time next year.
Season two of the hit series dropped on Netflix last week, revealing the fate of cocaine king Pablo Escobar while also hinting at further stories about Colombia’s drug trade.
Before the release of season two of Narcos, the show's creators spoke candidly about wanting to continue working on the series.
"We'll stop when the drug trade stops," said co-producer José Padilha. Fellow producer Eric Newman added: "We'll stop when you stop. That's our pact with America."
Speaking about season two, the producers said that focusing on 18 months of Escobar's life, rather than 15 years as was the case in season one, fundamentally changed the show.
"It allowed us to slow down and live with the characters a little bit more than we could have last season,” Newman said. "Now we’re watching his empire collapse around him."
