Eamonn Holmes is to step down as host of Sky News's Sunrise after eleven years as presenter of the breakfast show.
Holmes, who joined Sky in 2005 after 12 years on GMTV, confirmed his departure through a post on his Facebook page.
He said that anchoring his own breakfast show was "the stuff of boyhood dreams", adding that "It was the job I hoped to do as a young Belfast lad - and because of Sky News I got there!"
However, he said it was time for him to step down due to "having so much to do but little time to do it".
The 56-year-old Belfast native said he now hoped to focus on working on "a number of documentary projects" that he has put on hold for a while. Holmes fronts Sunrise from Monday to Thursday and hosts ITV's This Morning with wife Ruth Langsford on Fridays.

Back in April, he returned to TV screens after a ten-week absence following a double hip operation and is due to present his last show on Sky News on October 13. No details of a replacement presenter have been announced yet.
