The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced that they will play a second Dublin date this December due to popular demand.

The quartet will bring new album The Getaway to the 3Arena on Tuesday December 20 and Wednesday December 21. Longtime visitors to these shores, Red Hot Chili Peppers have played the venue - formerly known as The O2 and the Point Theatre - a number of times over the past 21 years.

The LA band made their Irish debut at Dublin's SFX in March 1992. Their gigs in the capital have also included Phoenix Park, Croke Park, Lansdowne Road and Dalymount Park shows.
