Guests at a wedding in Co. Derry were treated to ‘The A-Team’ of headline acts when Ed Sheeran joined Snow Patrol to perform live for the bride and groom’s first dance.
Derry bride Brid McDaid and Edinburgh native Sandy Statham were married at the Beech Hill Country House Hotel in Derry on Sunday. Brid’s bother is Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid who collaborated with his pal on Sheeran's smash hit song, Photograph.
Brid got married with her famous brother looking on, as well as her sisters Aine, Sile, Maev, other brother Rory and their mother, Pauline.
Later both musicians joined other members of Snow Patrol on stage to serenade the happy couple with an impromptu set including Chasing Cars, Tenerife Sea, and a lively cover of Stevie Wonder’s Motown classic, Superstition.

McDaid was joined by his fianceé and former Friends star Courtney Cox and her daughter Coco Arquette. The rumour mill had gone into overdrive beforehand that they might be planning to get hitched themselves in Ireland as the pair have reportedly told friends they favour a low-key ceremony.
The session clearly went down a storm and afterwards the Hotel's Manager, Conor Donnelly, said it was a definitely a day to remember for both the bride and groom and their guests.
"The sun was out in force and so were the stars who wowed the guests with their talent and crowned off what was a fantastic wedding celebration here at the Beech Hill Country House Hotel. The wedding guests were treated to very special performance which was fitting for such a great occasion.”
