Fans of Fair City are in for a wedding with a difference in tonight's hour-long special when Trigger attacks Carol on the way to her wedding to Robbie.
**Spoiler Alert**
Trigger's far from happy after being told to stay away from his daughter's wedding and he's determined to ruin Carol's big day. After pleading with her father to let her have her way, he takes matters into his own hands.
As Wayne and Carol make their way to the church, Trigger steps out in front of Wayne, pretending to be knocked over. When Wayne goes to his aid Trigger attacks both Wayne and Carol.

"It's probably one of my favourite story lines ever filmed," says Aisling O'Neill, who plays Carol. "We had two of the best days of the year to film, we'd a big marquee as a wedding venue. It was like being at a wedding!
"So many of the cast were in because it was a wedding, so there was great camaraderie and everyone got on really well, and everyone got into the spirit of things.
"There were some characters brought back, so it was really exciting. And we all get on very well, we're all very fond of each other."
So the wedding ends up being eventful for all the wrong reasons. In many ways, it's a typical day for Carol in Carrigstown."Nothing ever goes smoothly for Carol," says O'Neill. "It's just part of her destiny.
"Basically, her father came into it there a while ago . . . but it's come to light that Carol sat down with her fiancé, Robbie, who's played by Paul Shiels, and she confessed after all these years . . . that she'd been abused as a child.

"It's a very sensitive subject, you know? And she'd been abused by some of his friends, and there's a slight possibility maybe even him. We don't know yet.
"So this all came light, and now he's around, he's not going to make her day easy."
As for playing such a sensitive role, O'Neill admitted it wasn't easy but felt she had to immerse herself in the situation. "I dig deep," she said. "I'm that kind of actor. I'm not afraid to go there."
