Prince's ex-wife Manuela Testolini wants to keep the former couple's divorce documents from 2006 under wraps as family members battle over the late music icon's fortune.
Testolini appeared in a Minnesota courtroom on Thursday but didn’t speak. The hearing came about after Star Tribune editors asked a state judge to release the documents.
The newspapers' legal team insists the court files are newsworthy, following Prince's death in April from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, and the case surrounding his estate. Her lawyers objected, claiming the records are tied to a private settlement.
Hennepin County Family Court Judge Thomas Fraser has taken the matter under advisement.

Prince and Testolini are said to have first met in 2001 when she was working for his charity. She was 24 and he was 43. They were married that same year, and divorced amicably in 2006. Testolini went on to marry musician, Eric Benet, in 2011.
At the time of Prince's death Testolini told ET's Nancy O'Dell that she was "heartbroken beyond words" and revealed that she had recently reached out to her ex.

"Prince and I had a magical journey together and I loved him immensely," Testolini said. "I knew him as a husband, friend and fierce philanthropist. Philanthropy brought us together and it was Prince that encouraged me to start my own charity over 10 years ago."
"I just reached out to [Prince] a few days ago to let him know that I was building a school in his honor," she continued. "My heart aches that the school will now be built in his memory."
Prince's first marriage was to his 22-year-old backup singer and dancer Mayte Garcia, on Valentine's Day 1996.
They had a son named Ahmir Gregory in October of the same year. He was born with Pfeiffer syndrome and died a week later. The couple divorced in 1999.
