One of the families from Channel 4's Gogglebox has apologised for posting a joke photo on social media which referenced the so-called Islamic State.

Derby brothers Baasit, Raza and Umar Siddiqui were photographed in camouflage at a paintballing centre. The photo was uploaded to Facebook by Raza Siddiqui with the caption, "ISIS training day, look how happy we look", and was subsequently reported to police.

Baasit Siddiqui took to Twitter to apologise for any offence caused.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: "We have examined the photograph and are satisfied that the caption was not intended to be taken seriously, and there was no link to terrorism whatsoever."

"We will be offering suitable words of advice to those who uploaded it," the spokesman continued. "However, no offences have been committed and there will be no further police action."

A spokesman for Gogglebox said the family would continue to appear on the show. "The Siddiquis have not been under investigation by local police, they are aware that this post was misjudged and have apologised for their mistake," he said.
