Pippa Middleton, who is sister to Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge, has successfully climbed one of the most challenging mountains in Europe for charity.
Pippa embarked upon this challenge in order to raise money for the Michael Matthews Foundation, a charity set up following the death of her fiancé’s brother. Michael Matthews passed away in 1999 while descending Mt. Everest after he successfully scaled the summit, becoming the youngest Briton to do so.

The MFF foundation raises funds to build schools in remote areas around the world with most of the money being raised through sporting and endurance events. The charity estimates that around 1200 children are currently receiving an education in schools they have built.
Pippa is no stranger to pushing her body to the limit through gruelling sporting competitions and events such as competing in The Great Wall of China Marathon and Engadin Cross Country Ski Marathon.
Although the 32 -year-old has raised money for the charity in the past she found herself “humbled” after scaling the 14,692ft Matterhorn Mountain in Switzerland.

"It was humbling to have been able to climb one of the world's most beautiful mountains and raise money for a charity created in memory of an extraordinary young man who lost his life on another peak”
Both Pippa and her brother completed the trek which thus far has claimed more than 500 lives.
"Although neither I nor my brother ever met Michael, we both share his spirit and passion for the mountains. We made this climb knowing he would have been there nudging us on, and we are honoured to be supporting his memory."
