Idris Elba has ruled himself out of the running to be the next James Bond because he feels he's too old to play the legendary spy.
Elba has become a fan favourite to take over the 007 reigns from Daniel Craig, who is not expected to return to the role for a fifth outing, but he has described it as the "wildest rumour in the world" because he still hasn't met with anyone on Team Bond.
"I keep saying if it was to happen, it'd be the will of the nation, because there's not been no talks with me and studios about any of that, but everywhere I go, people want that to happen," Elba said on Good Morning America.
While 43-year-old Elba has starred in action movies in the past, he reckons he's too old to play Bond.
"If I'm really honest, man, I think I'm too old for that!" he laughed. "I ain't gonna be running around, in cars, and ladies, and martinis. Who wants to do that? It sounds terrible!"

Daniel Craig talks to RTÉ 2fm's Rick O'Shea
Craig has still to officially resign from the role of Bond, but while promoting Spectre last year he made it clear that it would be his last outing.
Along with Elba, Tom Hiddleston, James Norton, Damien Lewis and Dublin actor and Poldark star Aidan Turner have all been linked to the part.
