The latest winner of The Voice of Ireland, Michael Lawson, has thanked Bressie for being such a "fantastic support" to him since the series concluded and says he was instrumental in bringing his new single to life.
Lawson, who was coached by Bressie in the most recent series of the singing competition, co-wrote his new single, Revival, with the Mullingar man and he said it was very easy to work with him on the project.
"He's very easy to talk to and he knows his stuff. He's very musically talented and a born songwriter, he's a very good songwriter, and that really helped me for my song Revival because he co-wrote the song with me," Lawson told RTÉ Entertainment.
19-year-old Lawson explained that Revival was his first attempt at songwriting and he began by writing it down in story form, with Bressie then transforming it into song form.

"I'm not that good of a songwriter, I haven't done that much songwriting myself, so I tried the songwriting but it didn't really work. Instead I decided to write a story, because I like writing stories, so what I did was I wrote a story and sent it off to Bressie and he pretty much wrote the lyrics around that and pretty much put the entire story into the song, so that was great," he said.
"He was fantastic with the support and helping me to be the best that I could be, especially after the show in the making of Revival."
Lawson said it's "like a dream" to have his own single in his hand as it's something he "never thought would happen."
If the single is successful he hopes that it will lead to a career in the music industry.
He said, "Hopefully it will lead into more recording, more singles, possibly albums, hopefully it will lead to live performances, concerts, whatever can possible by done, I'm ready for it all."
