There's the weekend gone! Pokémon GO is now officially available in Ireland on Android and iOS after it recently took over the rest of the world.
Frustrated gamers in Ireland had been using a variety of workarounds and hacks to try and get the game working on their phones since it launched in the US, Australia and New Zealand.
Made by the Japanese company Nintendo, Pokémon GO is a free game which uses Augmented Reality technology, to superimpose computer-generated characters based on the 1990s Japanese franchise on the real world which the gamer then has to catch
The app alerts users of nearby Pokémon, landmarks and gyms as well as fellow trainers and events and players can scan then their surrounding area and, hopefully, find a nearby wild Pokémon.
Pokestops are places you have to go to to collect items such as eggs and more Poke Balls to capture more Pokemon - so learn the lingo!
And it's proving to be incredibly addictive. Analysts estimate that within two days of its launch in the US, the game was already running on 5% of Android based mobile phones - more than dating app Tinder! - with almost the same number of daily active users as on Twitter.
Ireland was a list of 26 countries that can now download the game - so expect to see a lot of excited people running around like headless chickens over the next few days while waving their phones.
