Comedian Amy Schumer has revealed that her first sexual experience was not consensual.

In an interview with US magazine Marie Claire, Schumer said her first sexual experience "was not a good one".

"I didn't think about it until I started reading my journal again," she continued. "When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, 'And then I looked down and realised he was inside of me. He was saying, 'I'm so sorry' and 'I can't believe I did this''."

The famously frank comedian said the man is not a part of her life and she does not want to take the matter further.

"This was 17 years ago. There are just so many factors," she said, adding, "I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, 'No, stop', and it was just completely ignored."

Schumer also discussed her current relationship with furniture designer Ben Hanisch, describing him as "the first guy who's really been my boyfriend".

"Being in love is the scariest thing in the world," she said. "You want to f******cry and scream. I can't handle it.

"Every time we say good-bye, I think, 'This will have been a nice last week together'. Or I tell myself nothing is real and he's going to leave me and tell me he never loved me. I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me."

Schumer is shortlisted for six awards at this year's Emmys, which take place on Sunday September 18. She will be in Dublin for a stand-up show at the 3Arena on Friday August 26.
