Ewan McGregor and Ewen Bremmer have been 'trainspotted' sprinting through Princes St in Edinburgh as they recreated the iconic opening scene from Trainspotting.
The pair, who are back playing Mark Renton and Spud 20 years on from the original, were on location filming for the Trainspotting sequel entitled T2, which is due for release in January 2017.
They were spotted running out of Urban Outfitters on the west end of Princes Street, which was reported to have been transformed into an Apple store for the day.
This echoed the opening scene of the first film, in which Renton runs out of John Menzies while he goes through the legendary 'Choose Life' monologue in voiceover.
Excited fans took to Twitter with one saying: "So was just in Edinburgh wondering why there was a film camera pointing in our direction then Ewan McGregor came flying past #trainspotting2."

The original cast has been spotted in a variety of locations in Edinburgh and Glasgow since filming started for T2 in May, including Edinburgh Airport and the Scottish Parliament.
Director Danny Boyle has said the screenplay is loosely based on author Irvine Welsh's sequel to the Trainspotting novel, Porno, and revisits the original characters 20 years on. Robert Carlyle, who will resume his role as Begbie, said last year that the script was one of the best he has seen.
