20 years on Spice Girls hint they REALLY do want a reunion

Turns out they really really do want a reunion after all
Turns out they really really do want a reunion after all

The well they, won't they saga about a possible Spice Girls reunion was rekindled (yet) again today after a video to mark the group's twentieth anniversary dropped the biggest hint of a reunion.

Yes today marks the date in history twenty years ago, when the iconic video for Wannabe landed and launched the original fivesome towards global domination.

To mark the anniversary, three members of The Spice - Girls Mel B, Geri and Emma -  have posted a video to say a big thank you to their fans for sticking by them over the two decades.

However there were also some very unsubtle hints that a reunion gig may be on the cards with Mel B announcing that "we want to celebrate and have a party" before the other two join in and declare that "when we do, you're all invited!".

The video ends with text which says "This a celebration for you....We hope to tell you soon".

The recent rumour is a big gig in Hyde Park next year, which will mark 21 years since Wannabe was released, however at the moment it looks like it will be just the Spice Girls trio as Victoria Beckham and Mel C haven't indicated that they would take part.

Mel C is said to be the one less likely to jump at the chance of performing with the band, with a source recently telling the Mirror newspaper that, "Mel C has been telling friends it's not happening, not for the anniversary and not next year.

"She's not interested in revisiting the band, and neither is Victoria. Their decision has made it impossible for the other three to go ahead with plans to tour again."

During the bands heyday in the nineties, the Spice Girls managed to sell more than 80 million records, making them the best-selling female group of all time. All five band members last performed together at the closing ceremony of the Olympics in 2012 where they performed Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life.
