Missing in action Irish acts Two Door Cinema Club, Lisa Hannigan and Cathy Davey have all sprung back with new songs and details of forthcoming albums and it looks like it may be a classic year for new Irish releases.
Davey returns with The Pattern, her first solo release since her Irish No.1 album The Nameless in 2010.
Davey hasn’t exactly been resting on her laurels - she’s written for film and TV, and set up her own charity, My Lovely Horse Rescue, which is named after her boyfriend Neil Hannon’s famous Fr Ted song, and dedicated to saving animals from their abusive pasts.

Meanwhile, Belfast trio Two Door Cinema Club have unveiled the video for their new single Are We Ready? (Wreck), which is taken from their forthcoming album Gameshow which will be released on October 14.
Meath singer Lisa Hannigan has also premiered a new single entitled Fall from her new album, At Swim, which is released August 19. Produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, At Swim follows Hannigan’s double-platinum, Mercury-nominated debut Sea Sew, and 2011’s Irish No 1 album Passenger.
James Vincent McMorrow breaks cover with the release of new, We Move, on September 2 with the lead single from forthcoming third album Rising Water, He also plays gigs at Black Box, Galway on October 5 and Dublin’s National Stadium on October 7.
Irish Veterans Bell X1 have also released a new single entitled Out of Love.
