As speculation continues that he will be the new James Bond, it has been announced that Aidan Turner is to return for a third season of the BBC's Poldark, with the Dublin actor's hunky protagonist set to encounter "new loves" in the series.
The third season of the much-loved period drama remake has been green-lit before the second has even aired on BBC One, and fans are sure to be hankering after some more shirtless scything action from leading man Turner.

It sounds like Turner fanatics won't be disappointed as his eponymous brooding Cornish land owner will deal with new battles, new family and new loves as the French revolution casts a shadow over life in Cornwall in 1794.
The second series of the show, adapted by Debbie Horsfield from the novels by Winston Graham, is returning in late 2016 with 10 new episodes, while the third run is set to air in 2017.

Poldark's executive producer Elizabeth Kilgarriff said: "Series two promises to take the audience on another fantastic rollercoaster ride and we're thrilled to know that the story won't end there.
"It's a testament to Debbie's brilliant story-telling and the passion of the Mammoth Screen [production] team that Poldark will be returning for a third series with yet more twists and turns for these much loved characters."
Turner stars alongside Eleanor Tomlinson as his wife Demelza in the popular drama which peaked with more than nine million viewers in the Sunday night slot on BBC One last year.
