Nicholas Lyndhurst is going back to the future - again - to feature in a one-off special of time travel sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart.
The BBC series, which ran from 1993 to 1997, starred Lyndhurst as Gary Sparrow, a TV repairman who discovered a time portal that allowed him to travel between the London of the 1990s and the London of The Blitz.
He finds himself as star-crossed lover, caught between his contemporary wife and his Blitz gal, who was played by Irish actress Dervla Kirwan.
The show will return for a one-off episode as part of the BBC's 60 years of BBC comedy celebrations.
The new episode of Goodnight Sweetheart has been written by the show's creators, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, and apparently takes Sparrow to "somewhere he has never been before".
The 60 years of BBC comedy season will also revive hugely popular shows such as Porridge and Are You Being Served?
