Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere have signed new deals to star in the upcoming season of the newly-renewed Nashville.

The country music drama was cancelled by ABC after a four season run in May, with Country Music Television (CMT) announcing that they would be saving it in June.

After the news of the cancellation it was unknown which stars would be continuing on with the series at its new home, with Panettiere's future, in particular, in question due to the events of the season four finale.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Britton (Rayna Jaymes) and Panettiere (Juliette Barnes) have now inked new deals to appear in the 22-episode season.

Other actors confirmed to return include Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley), Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O'Connor), Chris Carmack (Will Lexington) and Lennon and Maisy Stella (Maddie and Daphne Conrad).

It has been reported that regulars Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant) and Will Chase (Luke Wheeler) will not be returning for the next run.
