Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is "horrified" by the attempted sale of an alleged sex tape that's claimed to feature her.
UK tabloid The Sun has reported that it was offered a film of her performing a sex act on a man, believed to be her partner at the time, for £30,000.
"Kym is understandably horrified at the claims made in today's newspaper. The matter has now been handed to the police who have launched an investigation," a spokesman for Marsh told Digital Spy.
"We trust that The Sun newspaper will co-operate fully in identifying the individual behind this plot so that they can be held to account."
Last week, Coronation Street bosses assured fans that the actress will not be leaving the show, despite Marsh's character Michelle Connor's plans to quit Weatherfield and emigrate.
