Helen Mirren has joined the cast of the next instalment of auto franchise Fast and Furious and she says she accepted the part for "the fun of it."
Oscar winner Mirren will join Charlize Theron in what will be the first part of the hugely successful franchise since the death of leading man Paul Walker in 2013.
Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jason Statham are all back and the latest movie will be directed by Straight Outta Compton director F Gary Gray. It's set to open on April 14, 2017.

Mirren broke the news of her new role to Elle magazine and she is rumoured to be playing a villain in the movie but so far, her character details are being kept under the bonnet. She told Elle she took the role for “the fun of it” and added, “I’ve always rather loved driving.
“I said, ‘I’ll be in it, but only if I’m allowed to drive if I do drive in it,’” Mirren said. “But we’ll see. We’ll see how it transpires.
"I love going to the films. I like very serious films, I love foreign films, and I love big, fun movies - as long as they're well made and they've got good scripts. That's the most important thing."
