Naomie Harris is hoping to make it a James Bond movie hat-trick by retaining her role as Miss Moneypenny in the next 007 caper.

The Skyfall and Spectre star was attending a Bond-themed Diamonds are Forever gala in the UK and said that "I hope I am in the next film because I love playing Moneypenny."

"I will be eternally grateful for having been able to be a part of this incredible franchise. It has had an incredible impact on my career", she told HELLO! magazine.

As for who might next be playing the lead role, she was pretty coy about the possibilities. "I love Daniel Craig and I really, really hope he is going to come back," she said.

Craig previously stated that he'd rather "slash his wrists" than do another Bond movie, fuelling speculation about his successor should he relinquish the role.

Your new Bond?

Director Sam Mendes, who has departed the Bond film franchise, recently said that the constant debate as to whether Aidan Turner, Idris Elba or Tom Hiddleston may be the next Bond is pretty pointless.

"The truth is - and here's the headline: it's not a democracy. It's not The X Factor, it's not the EU referendum, it's not a public vote," he said.

"Barbara Broccoli chooses who's going to be the next Bond. End of story."

Poldark's Irish star Aidan Turner has become the new bookies' favourite to take over the role of James Bond after a flurry of recent bets.
