Former Good Wife star Archie Panjabi has confirmed that she won't be returning to The Fall for its much-anticipated third season.
She played pathologist Tanya Reed Smith in the first two seasons of the Belfast based drama and in the show she had a flirtation with Gillian Anderson's enigmatic DSI Stella Gibson.
Panjabi revealed that her busy schedule means that she will have to opt out of the series, so alas no more smouldering glances with Gibson.
"Sadly, the schedules didn't work out with that, but I absolutely will be tuning in to watch it, as not only am I a fan of the show, I'm good friends with Gillian and very fond of Jamie Dornan and the team.
"So I'm looking forward to that, which I think is out soon".
Reflecting on her two-season stint on the series about serial killer Paul Spector (Dornan), Punjabi was full of praise for her former co-stars and fondly recalled her time on The Fall.
"It was excellent," she told Digital Spy. "Gillian's a lot of fun, very intelligent, has great ideas and creates a lovely atmosphere on set. Same with Jamie - I had less time with Jamie but still we had a good amount of fun on set.
"When you can have fun on set it just makes the job a lot easier. I believe your performances are much better as well if you have a good chemistry with the other actors.
"I'm a big fan of the team so I look forward to seeing that."
Anderson recently created some mischief by putting herself forward as the first ever female James Bond and now Panjabi has also nominated herself for the role, insisting that it's time "we had an Asian woman playing the part of Bond".
She said she was being deadly serious and said she has what it takes to be a good 007. "I wasn't being funny about it, I was being very serious about it! [Laughs] I think it's about time we had an Asian woman playing that role."
Archie may have to wait a little longer, however, as it now seems certain that Irish actor Aidan Turner is set to be named as Daniel Craig's successor.
