Bruce Forsyth  is reportedly ‘too sick’ to attend his wife Wilnelia's birthday party and product launch next Wednesday.

The 88-year-old Strictly Come Dancing host failed to attend his friend Ronnie Corbett's funeral on April 18 due to ill health. He is still recovering from keyhole surgery which he underwent n November following a fall at his home in Wentworth in October, according to Mail Online.

A number of mobility issues mean that he will not attend the launch of Wilnelia Merced's candle range at prestigious London store Fortnum and Mason, which launch coincides with his wife's birthday.

"If he were well enough to go or medically advised, he would be there, but we're not at that point, " declared his manager Ian Wilson, according to ITV news. "He's not going to do something that would endanger recuperation."

58-year-old Wilnelia said in December last year that they hoped it would take "one or two months more for him to fully recover" from surgery to repair two aortic aneurysms  - an enlargement of the aorta artery - discovered after the fall at his home.
