Allison Janney has revealed that she would love to step back into her character CJ's shoes for more episodes of The West Wing.
The Emmy award-winning actress played the much-loved White House press secretary CJ Cregg in the classic NBC political drama which ran from 1999 to 2006.
Speaking to the Press Association, Janney said that the current political situation in American ahead of the presidential election inspires viewers to pine after the fictional President Jed Bartlet, played by Martin Sheen.
She said: "I love all my compadres from The West Wing. I've been seeing them a lot lately. I would love to walk the halls again with them at a fast pace walk and talk. It would be a thrill.
"Here people are looking at the political scene and wishing there was a Jed Bartlet again. I'm with Hillary. I hope she can bring back some sense."
The 56-year-old actress won three Emmy awards for her performance as CJ in The West Wing and has since gone on to win an Emmy for her guest role in Masters Of Sex and two for the comedy series Mom.

Janney briefly reprised her role as CJ when she made a surprise appearance in the White House press briefing room last month to raise awareness about opioid addiction.
She said of the experience: "It was fantastic. I was so thrilled they asked me to come there. At first I balked at it. I was like, 'no, no, no, I can't do that'.
"And then I got talked into it and thought: 'OK, I can do this.' It was pretty exciting to walk into that press briefing room as CJ and then once I became Allison all my nerves came out."
