Niall Horan has spoken out against people that use Twitter to spread abusive messages revealing that he has been bombarded with mean messages from a group of followers over the last two weeks.
The One Direction star has over 25 million followers on Twitter and on Tuesday night he opened up about the hate messages he has been receiving which attack both him and his family.
"For the last two weeks I've been receiving messages off a group of fans, they have drowned my phone in messages, keeping me awake at night," he tweeted.

"But the worst part is. They have been nothing but abusive. Saying things you wouldn't believe about me and my family.
"And saying the worst things ever about my little nephew. Thank God I'm not the kind of person who thinks into stuff like this. But I just think it's crazy how we let people away with things like this.
"And the sad thing is. As I tweet this they are in the group chat laughing at me."
"Don't worry about me. I'm the most carefree, laid back person around. But I'm just signalling it, because this s**** is happening to others," he concluded.
Shortly after Niall's series of tweets the One Direction fandom had #RespectNiall trending worldwide on the social media site.

Horan, who is a golf enthusiast, also hit headlines on Wednesday after he called for more women to take up golf.
Speaking ahead of his appearance at the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am, Horan said he feels strongly about getting more young people involved as they are "the future of the game".
"I would really like to see a lot more girls playing it because the girls' tour at the moment, the LPGA tour, is absolutely amazing, and there should be more kids playing," he said.
Horan said he was "probably over the hill now" to follow his dream of being a professional golfer, but hinted at another career now his former band is on hiatus, "If I could teach I would, but not at the moment," he added.
