Elvis Costello, Suede Villagers, Sharon Shannon are among the musical guests at this year's Galway International Arts Festival, with a strong theatre line-up also announced including World Premieres of new productions by Enda Walsh, Druid and Kellie Hughes.

The jam-packed festival line-up was announced on Tuesday morning and features a whole host of talent from Ireland and abroad.

Music fans can choose from a selection of acts including Elvis Costello and The Imposters, Villagers with special guest Mick Flannery, Sharon Shannon's Big Band, King Kong Company, Suede, Hothouse Flowers and many more.

Theatre-goers can enjoy the world premiere of Enda Walsh's new play Arlington [a love story], a bleak (of course) but tender love story starring Charlie Murphy, Hugh O'Connor and Oona Doherty. Produced by Landmark productions, the show will take place in a specially built theatre in Leisureland in Salthill.

Theatre goers can also experience his other project, Rooms, which features a new text based piece staged in a gallery alongside previous installations A Girl's Bedroom and Room 303

There's also a brand new production of Waiting For Godot by Druid directed by the redoubtable Gary Hynes, while another interesting prospect is Kellie Hughes' adaptation of the novel Death at Intervals starring Olwen Fouéré. Elsewhere Invitation to a Journey is a new show by CoisCéim, Crash Ensemble and Fishamble, and is inspired by designer Eileen Gray.

A stand-out selection of visual art will also be on display, with comedy and a series of 'First Thought Talks' also featuring, including an event with TED Talker and top model Cameron Russell.

The festival runs from July 11 – 24, with tickets on sale now for all events. To check out the full programme click here.
