Beverley Callard has revealed that she wants to stay in Coronation Street "forever".
The actress, who plays soap favourite Liz McDonald on the soap, recently took a six week break from the show while being treated for depression, but said that she is "loving" being back at work.
She told The Mirror newspaper: "I saw Kieran Roberts, my big boss, at Stuart Blackburn's leaving party. And he told me, 'You're here forever, you know that, don't you?'
"I want to be - I'm really fulfilled. I'm loving it.
"I think they'll carry Liz out when she's 90 in a mini-skirt and high heels."
Callard, who has played the Rovers landlady on and off since 1989, said that her fellow cast have been very supportive of her since she returned on set.
She said: "The first person I saw when I walked through the door was Sue Nicholls. She gave me a massive squeeze and said, 'Now listen. If you need anything, let me know. We're all here for each other.' Everybody was like that."
Callard added that her late friend and fellow colleague Anne Kirkbride, who played Deirdre Barlow on the show, inspired her on her first day back on the cobbles.
"I've got the most beautiful photo of [Anne McBride] on my dressing room wall", she said.
"I looked at her and said, 'Come on, you need to kick me up the arse now. I need a push.' I was really scared, but everybody was so welcoming."
