Peter Mayhew, the actor who plays Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise, has given a big shout (or should that be growl) out to a woman who nearly broke the internet after she posted a clip of herself larking about in her new Chewy mask.
The infectiously jolly Candace Payne of Arkansas posted a two-minute clip of herself on Facebook in a Chewbacca mask and did her best impersonation of the walking carpet. The clip has since won her no less than 101 million views and 1.85 million likes on the social media platform.
Now even Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in the original Star Wars movies and has reprised the role in the new trilogy, has tweeted his appreciation of Candance's tribute, specially as her post was made on his 72th birthday.

Payne has described her instant fame as a “whirlwind” and urged her new-found fans to find their "own simple joy".
Posting on her Facebook page on Saturday, she said: "Today has been a whirlwind. I’m grateful for every kind word and comment even if I haven’t replied. Y’all. OVERWHELMED with gratitude. Let’s keep belly laughing again and again. Never imagined finding my “simple joy” would land me more VIEWS on a little FB video than Mark Zuckerberg has followers. INSANE. Find your “simple joy”!
