Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has said that no character is safe, not even Rick Grimes.
Rick Grimes, who is played by Andrew Lincoln on the hit AMC series, is often thought of as being invincible because, well, he's Rick, but Kirkman has confirmed that he will die eventually.
Taking part in a Reddit AMA session on Tuesday night, Kirkman was asked by one fan, "Do Rick die?" to which he replied, "He do eventually."
During the Q&A with his fans, Kirkman was also asked if Rick would be "totally broken" in the season seven premiere.
"I'd say that's a fair assumption. The premiere episode of season 7 is going to be hard on everyone... Rick especially", Kirkman replied.
The season six finale of the show ended in a huge cliffhanger as comic-book villain Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, made his first appearance.
With his trusty barbed-wire covered baseball bat, Lucille, in hand, Negan took the life of one of our favourite characters – but we won't find out who until the seventh season airs.
