The new motoring show featuring the former Top Gear presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will be called.....The Grand Tour.
The new series is expected to debut on Amazon Prime in the Autumn after the streaming service reputedly agreed a €220 million deal over three years with the trio to make the new car show.
Previous reports suggested names such as Gear Knobs were being considered, however it was claimed that the BBC had a legal right to stop the new show using the word “gear” in the title.
A spoof video on Facebook also shows names that were under consideration, including Automates, A Small Puddle of Excellence and The Ace Biscuit.
A tongue-in-cheek statement from the trio thanked everyone for their suggestions, with an explanation from Clarkson on the final choice.
"Thing is. We'll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It's a sort of 'grand tour', if you like. So we've decided to call it 'The Grand Tour'", he said.
May admitted he was underwhelmed by the final name, saying: "I wanted to call it 'Nigel', or 'Roger'. We needed a name, and they're names", while Hammond said: "I already love camping. But this is something else. We are like our pioneering and prospecting forebears, sallying forth into a new frontier of broadcasting..".
Afterwards Clarkson sent a Tweet to confirm the show's name.
So, the Grand Tour (GT for short) will come from a tent, which we will put up in a different location every week. Your town?

Hammond also took to Twitter to confirm the news.
We've got a name. And it was bleeding obvious cos it's what we're doing: coming from a different place every weekhttps://t.co/T93o2M7dh9

...Best of all, we've got a MASSIVE tent as our studio. Same tent, different view, different crowd every week on our Grand Tour.

May meanwhile had this to say:
I still think 'Nigel' was a better name.https://t.co/nIlrOaosXF

Meanwhile the new series of Top Gear, presented by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc is set to return to the BBC on May 22. The pair were recently in Kerry filming scenes for the new series.
Chris Evans told RTÉ about their their reasons for choosing to film in the Kingdom.
"We ended up here because it's over the water, we had to come and film in Ireland, we had to have the Rolls Royce, we had to have one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world, and we knew the weather was going to be like this (clear blue skies), because it always is isn't it."
