Graham Norton wants Australia booted out of the Eurovision Song Contest and considers their inclusion as "kind of stupid".
The Cork TV presenter and Eurovision commentator insisted that he's got nothing against the Antipodean country, but thinks their inclusion is a continent too far.
"I just do not understand why they are in the Eurovision Song Contest," he told The Sun. "Get rid of Australia.
"I know some countries aren't technically in Europe but, come on - Australia is on the other side of the world!"
Australia's Dami Im will perform in Thursday's semi-final
Australia was invited back to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest after the country's successful inclusion last year for the 60th anniversary, with Guy Sebastian finishing in fifth place. The competition has long been broadcast in Oz and has a huge following down under.
Norton added: "Last year they said it was a one-off as it was a celebratory anniversary and you think, 'OK', but they are back again!
"What's that about? People go, 'Oh you are so anti-Australia'. I've got nothing against Australia. I just think it is kind of stupid."
This year Australia will be represented by Dami Im, a former winner of Australian X Factor. She will perform in Thursday's night's semi-final alongside Ireland and the song, Sound of Silence, has already been installed as one of the favourites by bookies to win the competition.
