Johnny Depp has poked fun at the infamous dog-smuggling incident and the less than enthusiastic video which he and his partner Amber Heard made as an apology to Australian authorities.
Depp and Heard were forced to make the video after Heard smuggled the couple's dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia while Depp was filming Pirates of The Caribbean 5 last year.
The carefully scripted clip, which shows a sullen Depp and Heard addressing the camera, was the source of much mirth worldwide due to the couple's lack of conviction in their delivery.
Appearing at a press conference in London to promote his new film, Alice Through the Looking Glass., Depp joked about at the cringe-worthy clip.
"I'm going to do this everywhere I go," he said. "I would really like to apologise for not smuggling my dogs into England, because it would have been a bad thing to do."
"Because the Australians, though chipper…" Depp added, before seeming to lose his train of thought.
Referring to Depps' dogs, Pistol and Boo, director Tim Burton interjected, jokingly saying: "I forgot to tell you they're dead. I just sat on them upstairs."
"I tried to kill them after Australia," Depp added.
Depp and Heard recorded the video outlining the importance of following Australia's quarantine laws after charges of illegally importing the two Yorkshire terrier dogs were dropped.
