Following reports that he and wife Sharon have split after nearly 34 years of marriage, singer Ozzy Osbourne has dismissed claims that he has lost his sobriety.

Speaking exclusively to entertainment show E! News in the US, the Black Sabbath frontman said: "I have been sober for three-and-a-quarter years. I have not touched drugs or alcohol in that time. Any reports that I am not sober are completely inaccurate."

A spokesperson for the stars confirmed to E! News that they had "mutually agreed" that it would be best for the rock legend to move out of the family home.

"At this time, Ozzy is not in the marital home," the spokesperson said.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne briefly split in 2013 after his drug and alcohol relapse. He attended daily AA meetings to help with his sobriety and has been sober since.

Sharon Osbourne did not appear on her US chat show The Talk on Monday with her co-host Julie Chen telling viewers: "Now before we get started as you can see, Sharon is not here today. There were many tabloid headlines this past weekend about her and Ozzy. Rumours and speculation that they have split up after nearly 34 years of marriage.

"Sharon understandably took today off. We are sending all of our love to her and to her family and we ask that you do the same."
